DPR of PA is proud recipient of the "Finest Doberman Website" award.

August 2008, Dog-Behavior-Training.co.uk

DPR of PA is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization; we are a non-profit organization with an all volunteer network of Dobe lovers.  We exist for the purpose of rescuing, rehabilitating, and adopting needy Dobermans into permanent homes.

Our Mission: is to rescue and place purebred Doberman Pinschers who display proper temperament and health potential into responsible pet homes, while informing the public about the breed and basic humane care of pets.

All Dobes that come into our rescue receive:

  • A full physical examination.
  • A psychological evaluation.
  • Distemper, Hepatitis, Adeno, Parainfluenza, Parvo, Rabies, and Bordatella vaccinations.
  • Blood tests for Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis and Heartworm.
  • Fecal sample evaluation.
  • Micro-chip with registration.
  • Spaying or neutering.
  • Frontline
  • Bath
  • Nails trimmed (if needed).
  • A well balanced diet (Iams, ProPlan, Purina veterinary brand).
  • A foster home, where they live in a nice safe home with toys and treats.
  • Love
  • Education
  • Socialization with other animals.

DPR volunteers follow up on all adoptions; we are a network of Dobe lovers who provide:

  • Assistance during the adjustment period.
  • Behavior and training advice and referrals.
  • Quarterly newsletters.
  • Annual Jamboree for the whole family, with dogs.

How can you help?  We are always in need of volunteers.

  • Foster homes for needy Doberman Pinschers.  Our greatest need is for dedicated people to temporarily open their homes to these dogs while they await adoption.  All medical needs, food, and equipment are provided by DPR.  We ask for temporary housing in a structured and caring pet-interested household for a flexible time period, one dog at a time.
  • To volunteer, contact Shirley Crumiling at (717) 309-1502

If you would like to help but are unable to volunteer, our income comes from donations and adoption fees. All donations directly help the dogs in our care.  All donations are tax deductible.
