ABOUT

In 1986, Pam Taylor founded Doberman Pinscher Rescue of PA, Inc., a non-profit organization that helps homeless Dobermans find forever homes. The organization's origin story began with Shogun, an underweight dog that was being surrendered at the West Chester shelter by his owner in the military who could not keep him. After Pam brought Shogun home, she knew she had found her calling.

DPR of PA places Dobermans with families in southeastern Pennsylvania and surrounding areas, as well as parts of western Pennsylvania, and accepts applications for forever homes from as far away as NJ, MD, VA, CT, and MA as long as applicants are willing to travel to meet the dog in its foster home.

All Dobermans that come into our rescue receive a full physical and behavioral exam and temperament evaluation which helps match them with an appropriate family.  In addition, the organization serves as a resource to educate and assist new Dobe owners.  Our organization is a valuable resource to new Dobe owners and we are here to offer knowledgeable advice during the initial adoption adjustment period.
